On "Stand Firm" you wrote about a friend who deconverted and who was listening to Bill Maher. Given the man's anti-vaccine beliefs this is bad and if she hasn't developed critical thinking skills she might pick it up and agree.
ReplyDeleteI think the best way to deal with that is to tell her she should read Ingersol or Bertrand Russel- someone dead who isn't capable of saying something profoundly retarded anymore. It is not something she'd expect you to do.
As for attempting to bring someone back to the Christian faith by telling them that Christianity values stubborness and loyalty to Christianity will not work if she has truely deconverted. If she is just a lapsed Christian it might be effective but from your description I doubt it. The arguments provided by Pyromaniacs are only useful for lapsed Christians.
She just needs to repent of her petulant disobedience...that's pretty much it.
