This report came out about an Italian scientist who supposedly reproduced a shroud similar to the famous artifact known as the Shroud of Turin. The article is here.
Curiously the project was funded by atheists and agnostics, but this proves little other than that such projects are frequently funded by such people. The most important thing to take away from this story is this: The Christian faith is based on the biblical facts of the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth & nothing else. It does nothing to shake my faith if it was proved that the Shroud of Turin is in fact a medieval hoax. In fact, given the propensity of so many superstitious people, and Christians who need such affirmation to give them confidence, it would be good riddance if the Shroud was all but put away for good.
I don't need a controversial Shroud to bolster my belief in Christ. The Gospel that the Apostles preached was that Christ died and was buried "according to the Scriptures". It is the Word of God, which is God-breathed, inerrant, and a living power that convinces me of the fact of the Resurrection and gives me hope in Christ.

I am really and truly sick of those who look for whatever excuse they can to deny the fact that God exists and he is real. This tops the cake with their asinine thinking of how the Shroud of Turin is fake because they were able to make a mockery [replica] of it. I hope that Italian scientist enjoys his 15 minutes of fame and the money he was paid to utter horrible blasphemies. I would not even be a bit surprised if he's one of the scientists involved in making a body/clone for the Antichrist.

The book discusses the Shroud of Turin and the coming Cloned Antichrist. The greatest deception that the world has ever seen is coming.

ReplyDeleteWe're not told in the Bible to prove the existence of God, for Scripture tells us that such knowledge is self-evident to men and is suppressed by them. Romans 1. The evidence for the Resurrection is found in the Scriptures. The prophets foretold it, Jesus promised it, and the Apostles verified by their eye-witness testimony. The Scripture is sufficient to convince us of the rising up of Jesus from the dead.
IF you believe this, then tell it to the world boldly. But don't get your hopes up on strange phenomena like shrouds. Do you really think the Gospel is in danger if the Shroud is proven fake? What does it tell you when Atheists spend all kinds of energy trying to disprove something they don't think exists?
Our faith is in Christ through the Scriptures, not the fallible myths and legends of men.
Ever read about Luther's list of relics? Google it, it is quite humorous. Rome still has about two tons worth of "cross" fragments, 32 nails, and about 30 lbs of thorns, all genuine of course. Great blog. . .
